Spanish for Authors
The characters in our novels are as diverse as the world around us. This means they sometimes come with skills we, the authors, don’t possess — just ask my boxer cop who is stuck with a writer who wouldn’t know the difference between left hook and an uppercut if it struck her in the jaw.
Nothing is more frustrating than spending hours and hours of tears, sweat, and hard work making those stories shine, only to have those small mistakes creep through. Even worse, readers will come behind and inevitably find them.
While I cannot help with boxing moves, as a Spaniard who was raised bilingual, I do know Spanish. So, if you have a Spanish-speaking character and need help giving him/her some words or you need someone to double-check what you have, feel free to contact me.
Please note that this is intended for help with a few words or lines of dialogue. I am offering this free of charge, so I cannot read full manuscripts or provide translations for complete paragraphs, scenes, or chapters.
